A Pakistan Counter-Terrorism Division official has been remanded over his alleged position in stealing $340,000 value of tether (USDT) from a kidnapped crypto dealer.
Dealer Mohammad Arsalan Malik claims he met numerous consumers after a person referred to as Hamid repeatedly requested to buy {dollars} from him.
Malik stated that two people requested for $30,000 and informed him that someone referred to as Ashar would drop off his fee.
Pakistani media studies that the three waited for Ashar at a restaurant. He reportedly arrived at 1am, adopted 40 minutes later by a police van with no quantity plate and a variety of plain-clothed officers.
These officers allegedly proceeded to abduct Malik, take him to a different location, and power him to switch $340,000 in USDT from his Binance account.
Afterward, his kidnappers reset his telephone and dropped him off close to a mausoleum.
