(Reuters) – U.S.-based utility Duke Vitality (NYSE:) stated on Friday it had filed a plan with the Florida Public Service Fee to get better about $1.1 billion in direct prices related to the corporate’s emergency activation and response to hurricanes Debby, Helene and Milton.

Duke, the most important utility protecting North and South Carolina, stated the hurricanes hit its service territories prior to now few months and rip away miles of transmission strains and energy poles, leaving tens of hundreds of its prospects with out electrical energy.

The corporate stated on Friday residential prospects will face a rise of about $21 per 1,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electrical energy of their month-to-month payments in March 2025 in comparison with February 2025.
