Doja Cat’s X account not too long ago fell sufferer to a gaggle of crypto hackers with a questionable sense of humour and an much more questionable understanding of how to promote a cryptocurrency.
Their grand scheme? Hijack Doja’s account, push their new digital forex $DOJA, and take a jab at fellow rapper Iggy Azalea whereas they’re at it.
The hackers’ message was a masterclass in subtlety: “F**k that stupid b***h [Iggy Azalea] and buy $DOJA”.
However Iggy, being the straight-shooting Aussie that she is, wasn’t about to let that slide. She promptly suggested her followers, “Don’t buy this y’all. She’s hacked. Save your money, the market’s down as it is…”
Don’t purchase this y’all. She’s hacked.

Iggy clarified that she and Doja are cool in actual life, and the hackers had critically misstepped by making an attempt to create drama between them. “Get rugged if y’all want but I’m cool [with] that girl [in real life] so y’all fucked up [with] that tweet hackers,” she wrote.
However the hackers didn’t cease at their failed try to manufacture a feud.
Additionally they took it upon themselves to label Doja’s music as “demonic” whereas giving a puzzling shoutout to American musician Weiland. We’re not totally certain what their endgame was there, but it surely looks as if they had been simply greedy at straws.
weiland motivates me to chase the bag
doja cats music is demonic

Doja Cat, ever the social media maven, promptly addressed the state of affairs on her Instagram Tales, writing, “My Twitter’s been hacked, these messages are not from me.”
This isn’t the primary time a star has discovered themselves within the crosshairs of crypto scammers. Simply final month, Metallica’s X account was hacked by scammers touting $METAL, engaging followers with guarantees of unique merch and an Xbox signed by the band.
Regardless of the digital chaos, Doja Cat continues to shine on her European and UK tour, kicking off with a extremely praised efficiency on the OVO Hydro in Glasgow.
